Scouting is largely outdoors and usually involves challenging physical activity. The most strenuous Troop event a new Scout enjoys involves packing all his camping gear 1-1/2 miles or more in and out of campsites. While this is physically demanding it is within the capabilities of the new Scout. More demanding activities have rank and skill and age requirements, which will prepare the Scout for the challenge.
