EXAMPLE        Dear Scouting Families:

Now that we have completed 2005 I wanted to reflect back on some of the many accomplishments of Troop 165 and look ahead a little into 2006.

The troop is strong and in a good financial position.  There are over 40 registered boys and over 10 registered adults that are a part of the troop.  In 2004 the boys earned over ---- merit badges and -- rank advancements.  Additionally, several boys earned the rank of Eagle after years of diligent effort.  Mr. Shepard continues to do an exceptional job in leading the troop……and of course is our greatest asset.

Many of the boys in the troop attended Merit Badge University at The Univeristy of Texas or at a local church.  Campouts were enjoyed at Lost Maples, San Marcos River, El rancho Cima, Lost Pines, Canyon of the Eagles, New Mexico and Colorado.  The troop will be  attending summer camp at El Rancho Cima.  We finished the year with a funding surplus.  It has been a VERY BUSY year !  But guess what………

2006 will be much the same !  Recently, we had 10  families joining Troop 165 this spring and this will keep our troop strong and healthy.  We welcome the new families as new boys begin the difficult climb to Eagle and we encourage the boys already on their way to continue and complete the requirements for Star, Life, and Eagle.  We expect another fantastic year of personal excellent from each Scout as they ”do their best“ each day.  Adults, please keep up the good work for the benefit of every boy in the troop and the boys who will follow in their footsteps in future years.

                                                Yours in Scouting,

                                               Troop 165 Committee
